Overview

A premium quality woodstain ideal for protecting exterior softwood and hardwoods. Formulated to offer a highly flexible finish that will resist flaking, cracking, and peeling whilst protecting against UV damage. The high level of water repellency provides long-lasting protection for exterior doors windows and doors.

Not suitable for decking or areas subject to heavy wear or abrasion.

Preparation

Always ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and dirt free to ensure adhesion.

• Degrease any exposed bare timber by wiping with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits.
• Fill any surface defects, imperfections, or open joints with an appropriate filler such as .
• Only use non-ferrous screws, nails, and fixings.
• Any non-preservative treated softwood timber should be treated with .
• Base Stained Joinery - Lightly abraded in the direction of the grain but do not break the surface coating.
• “Knotting agents” should not be used with Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain.

Application

We recommend always following the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin. Stir thoroughly, it is recommended that a small test area is applied before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.

• Supplied ready to use, do not thin.
• It is recommended to apply one coat of prior to application of Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain.
• For best results use a long-haired, soft bristle brush.
• Pay special attention to end grain, tops and bottoms of doors, and undersides of cills. Ensure these areas are fully coated.
• Apply 2 coats, allowing 16-24 hours between coats.

Note: Do not apply if there is a risk of rain or if temperatures are below 8°C and above 25°C.
